Let Live Music stay at Kult Yard

Let Live Music stay at Kult Yard
The Issue
Dear neighbours of 195 Pearl's Hill,
We’re writing to you not just as the team behind Kult Yard, but as fellow members of this shared hill — people who care deeply about the energy, possibility, and community that live here.
Over the past few years, Kult Yard has become more than a bar. It’s grown into a cultural cornerstone at Pearl’s Hill — a place where artists, musicians, neighbours, and beyond gather, connect, and create.
Through initiatives like Akoustikult (our weekly live open jam), we’ve seen friendships form, new ideas sparked, and more people discover the charm of this special place. These initiatives have also provided work for 7 creatives in our community.
The creative life that has emerged here has not only brought joy, but it has brought people. More visitors, more foot traffic, more visibility for all who work, create, or run businesses in this building. When the space feels alive, it benefits everyone.
Recently, we were informed that live music may no longer be allowed at Kult Yard due to sound concerns. We hear and respect the need for harmony among tenants, and we’ve already made adjustments,
Shifting Akoustikult from Wednesdays to Saturdays and being more mindful of volume during all programs.
But we also believe that removing live music altogether would be a great loss — not just for us, but for the spirit of Pearl’s Hill. This place has quietly become a creative enclave.
If you feel that live music has contributed positively to this community, if you’ve felt the energy it brings, or seen the way it helps 195 PHT grow
— We kindly ask for your support in helping us preserve it.
If you’d like to speak with us directly or share thoughts, we’re always happy to connect. Drop us a DM/email to info@kultyard.space, or hop over irl.
If you wish to keep live music at Pearl’s Hill, please sign this letter of support.
Kindly note that we are only seeking signatures from 195 tenants. Please include your business name/ unit number!
Cheers,
Kult Yard
