Let Dallas Parents Approve LGBTQ+ Clubs for Their Kids

Let Dallas Parents Approve LGBTQ+ Clubs for Their Kids
The Issue
A new Texas law threatens to ban LGBTQ+ student clubs like GSAs from Dallas public schools. These groups offer more than rainbows and posters—they give students a safe space to breathe, belong, and be themselves.
Lawmakers say this is about “parental rights.” But what about the parents who support these clubs? What about the moms and dads who show up with snacks, who support their kids' identities, who say yes when their child wants to join a space where they feel safe?
This law doesn't protect us. It silences us. It punishes LGBTQ+ students for existing and tells supportive parents that we no longer have a say in what our children can access at school.
We are calling on Dallas ISD and other school districts across North Texas to preserve LGBTQ+ clubs in every legal way possible. Allow student-led versions. Keep posters visible. Protect meeting spaces. Say clearly that Dallas schools support all families—including those of LGBTQ+ youth.
This is what real parental choice looks like. Not political censorship. Not forced silence. And not fear.
Add your name if you believe Dallas parents should have the right to support LGBTQ+ students in their schools.
