Some  schools  around the whole of uk and not specifically Harrow have let students finish early , wear or kits , or not go In at all and completely shut the school down due to the heat. buildings in the uk are specifically made to be naturally warm/hot because the uk isnt known as a hot country. Meaning even with fans/aircon it can still be extremely hot for children .making it difficult to learn , while some students already struggle with learning in general, making the heat extremely bothering and more challenging for students to learn in. Making it also challenging for teachers being able to teach. I understand students need an education and teachers need to go to work, but due to the heatwave it is extremely challenging for students and teachers to teach. Students are told to bring water with them at all times , but due to the heatwave the water while most likely be very hot . And I understand students should refill there bottles but not all parents and students trust water fountains in schools ,and some are often dirty. Why I specifically vote for just Harrow schools to close  is because as someone who goes to school in Harrow teachers often don’t understand the impact the heat can have.extreme heat can increase of fires across London and can make classrooms uncomfortable and potentially unsafe for students , during heatwaves , schools should consider temporary closures or remote learning to protect the students and staff , as heatwaves can cause heatstroke , dehydration ,respiratory , problems and exacerbation of existing conditions .i understand you might have the question of “ why schools in Harrow specifically “ now as someone who goes school In Harrow , I understand the concern of not just students but some teachers too. And understand how frustrating it is for students to still have to go in school in Harrow should close during periods of extreme heat because many classrooms become too hot for effective learning harrows dense urban environments can make temperatures feel even higher and students travelling across the borough may be exposed to unsafe levels of heat, temporary closures or remote learning would help protect students health and wellbeing while ensuring education can countinue safely, as a pupil who goes to school in Harrow loads of friends or mutuals have also complained about writing emails to there school about closing or just simply not going in, and as a pupil I would like to give this petition a chance to let Harrow students and teachers be able to have the 2 days off instead of students having to miss days and parents write emails .
