I've witnessed firsthand how marijuana can improve lives. I've seen how it calms those with mental illnesses, how it helps people break free from the chains of alcoholism. A herb that has been demonized for so long has provided solace and aid to a multitude of people I know personally. Now, I want to extend this relief to others in Indiana by spearheading efforts to establish the first distillery in Goshen.

Our plea, therefore, is for lawmakers in Indiana to legalize marijuana for medicinal and recreational use.

According to a study published in the Journal of Health Economics, states that legalized marijuana saw a 15% reduction in alcohol sales (J. Health Econ., 2018). This signifies potential to tackle alcoholism at a larger scale. Moreover, a 2018 review of various scientific reports revealed that cannabis could be a formidable tool in managing mental health illnesses, providing relief from symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and depression (Frontiers in Psychology, 2018).
