A full safety review of Fiveways road junction (A59)

A full safety review of Fiveways road junction (A59)
The Issue
Today, 10th of September 2016, yet another very serious road traffic collision has occurred at the Fiveways junction (A59) in Ormskirk. I am a resident of Southport Road and live 1 minutes walk away from this busy and wholly unsafe, dysfunctional traffic junction. I am calling for a full safety review and cameras to be installed at this busy road junction. Accidents are occurring weekly and today's has ended up with a car against the wall of a house on Halsall Lane and an elderly man being air-lifted to hospital. Pedestrians use this pathway regularly. Drivers are repeatedly jumping lights, filter lights are ineffective and timings of traffic lights are appallingly unsafe. Please support this petition if you agree that this is now a serious matter of safety and that a full safety review is necessary to ensure this junction becomes a safer place for road users, pedestrians and the local community.
