On December 18. 2018. Matt Sopron was exonerated.  All charges dropped by the States Attorneys of Cook County.  Judge Timothy Joyce said it was over and Matt was discharged from the Illinois Department of Corrections.  The almost 21 year battle to show his innocence was finally over.  Thanks to the hard work of all his family and friends who supported him through the years and never doubted his innocence.
