Keep the X34 and X36 running from North Ayrshire to Glasgow
Why this petition matters
Stagecoach who operate most buses in Ayrshire are planning withdrawing the X34 from Irvine to Glasgow and the X36 from Ardrossan to Glasgow serving many towns and villages along the way from both Irvine and Ardrossan, If these services go. Many people will lose what is a lifeline service to/from our biggest city and it is a kick in the teeth for our local area for Stagecoach to suddenly decide without consulting anyone that they will be withdrawing both these routes as they claim the routes are now loss making when both routes are busy to/from Glasgow, If the X34 and X36 go, This means, Saltcoats, Stevenston, Kilwinning, Dalgarvin, Dalry, Kilbirnie, Glengarnock, Longbar, Beith, and outskirts of Lochwinnoch will lose their only direct buses to the City Centre with many people using these services to go to work, collage or university and for people who can't driver and elderly people getting where they need to go and following the Scottish Government introducing free bus travel for under 22s and as part of Scotland's aim of being net zero, This will only encourage people to get back in their cars and make bus travel less attractive, I strongly urge Stagecoach to think again about with withdrawing the X34 and X36 bus services and keep them as our area needs them. Even if Shuttle Buses or McGills could takeover that would be a start too, But as usual Stagecoach thinks about profits, Not passengers
