Serrell Street Kindergarten has been educating local children since 1973 and preparing them for transition into Primary School. 

After the sudden and unexpected announcement by Uniting Early Learning that the service would be closed at the end of 2022, the community has rallied and are committed to keeping this vital community service open. 

Serrell Street Kindergarten MUST stay open - not only to support the children who had been offered places in 2023 and now find themselves without a place in local sessional kinder - but to ensure we maintain enough sessional kindergarten places in future years to support the local community and give our children "the best start."

Uniting Church and Stonnington Council are supporting the Parent Advisory Committee to take over as a parent run kindergarten. United Early Learning are committed to an amicable transfer.

Timing is of the essence.

We now need urgent support from the government to support our Parent Provider application with DET and the grants process.
