Who are we:

A committee representing the campers of Peketa Beach Holiday Park. 

We have had the privilege of enjoying this part of Kaikoura and what it has to 

offer with the rich history, the ability to take our families fishing, diving, 

mountain biking etc and enjoy the unique natural environment and landscapes 

that Kaikoura offers.

Concern:

We have been notified that the existing lease at Peketa Beach Holiday Park

expires next year in 2024 and may not be renewed and the Holiday Park may 

close.

Our Vision:

To keep Peketa Beach Holiday Park open for everyone in the future.

We wish to work collectively and engage with all stakeholders to achieve this 

vision.

We recognise that there are many issues in terms of protection of the natural 

environment, the protection of the ecological environment and the protection 

of the cultural values along the coastline.

We would love to be part of a solution, keeping Peketa Beach Holiday Park 

open for us and future campers, educating the campers (both old and young) 

regarding the protection of the natural environment, the protection of the 

ecological environment and the protection of the cultural values along the 

coastline thereby reducing the impacts of our activities on the coastal 

landscape.
