We want outdoor adventures to remain at the heart of Girlguiding. Outdoor adventures give girls crucial life skills and help them build confidence and resilience. We want this to continue to be central to what Girlguiding offers, despite the planned sale of Girlguiding’s five centrally-owned training and activity centres (TACs) in 2024 and the closure of several other regionally-owned sites in recent years.

We are therefore asking Girlguiding to prioritise affordable access to outside adventure for all members in their future plans – in particular by:

1. giving preference to potential buyers who intend to keep the TACs as activity centres
2. investing the sales proceeds from the TACs and using all the associated investment income to support future outdoor adventure for Girlguiding members
3. finding alternative arrangements for flagship events such as Wellies & Wristbands, Sparkle & Ice, and Magic & Mayhem
4. making it easier for members to find and book the 150+ regionally-owned Girlguiding campsites / activity centres around the UK
