The Post Office branch at Morrisons Daily, 3 Brook Parade, Chigwell IG7 6PE closed last month. Since then, residents in Chigwell Village have been left without a valued local service that many people relied on.

For many in our Chigwell community, the Post Office isn’t just somewhere to send parcels. It is used by elderly residents, families, carers, small businesses and those who need access to postal, banking and bill payment services close to home. Not everyone is able to travel easily to another branch, and not everyone is confident using online services.

At present, there is no confirmed replacement Post Office location for Brook Parade.

After discussions with and support from Cllrs Rizvi/ Sunger and McCann as well as local residents Mace, at 6 Brook Parade, Chigwell, Essex IG7 6PE, has submitted an application to open a new Post Office branch at its premises.

This proposed location is literally only few doors away from the previous branch and would provide a practical and sensible solution for local residents. It would help protect access to essential services, support footfall for local shops, and keep an important community facility on Brook Parade.

We are calling on Post Office Limited to give full and urgent consideration to the application submitted by Mace, Chigwell, and to recognise the strength of local support for keeping Post Office services on Brook Parade.
