Landlines are essential to the elderly, those in rural areas who have poor mobile/wifi signal & in the case of power outages, the only reliable form of communication. The public should have the option of how they remain contactable & not be stripped of this essential lifeline. 

Although technology progresses daily, wifi calls are reliant on the strength of the wifi signal & power to generate this. Large portions of society will be denied essential telephone services,  endangering the  lives & welfare of our most vulnerable members of society.  Unable to call emergency services,  doctors, family, order groceries, resulting in a failure to meet many other basic needs.
