A glue trap consists of a plastic or cardboard tray filled with non-hardening glue. The goal of these torturous devices is to entrap a mouse until someone can destroy the poor creature. However, other animals such as birds, bats, rats, and even kittens get caught in barbaric glue traps.  It is approximated that out of every forty animals caught in these cruel traps, thirty five survive for more than twenty four hours. During this period of pure suffering, terrified and frantic animals rip their fur and limbs in a bid to escape. Some even chew off their own legs out of desperation. The five who perish before the twenty four hour mark also suffer cruel deaths. They die of suffocation from the glue or from dehydration. The amount of pain and distress caused to these animals is insurmountable and completely unnecessary as there are humane alternatives.
