I'm starting this petition because I'm appalled by how much Canadians use single use plastic. I work in the mall and see hundreds of people walking around with single use plastic in their hands. I think about how in just one day millions of single use plastic have been used and thrown away. I understand the temptation because its there and its convenient. I understand the easiness of it. After you finish your drink you can just throw away the cup and don't have to worry about holding the item. Its time to change our thinking. The plant is hurting and I believe we can sacrifice a comfort in order to help whats keeping us alive. I believe its a mindset. I use to like the comfort of knowing I don't have to carry around my cup after use. After bringing my swell bottle everywhere and buying a purse that can fit it I've found that its a comfort I can survive without. 

Tim Hortons I believe is one of the biggest culprits. I bring my reusable mug and I see them use one of their cups in order to measure how much goes in to my reusable mug and then see them throw that cup away. It was like I tried to make an effort to better the planet and got slapped in the face. I believe they should create a reusable measuring cup for the people who try to make a conscious effort in order to help the planet.
