Despite the frustration from COVID-19 itself, international students in Canada are being put under pressure to meet their financial dues by landlords on strict deadlines as it could have been done in normal situation. This petition is to call upon the Government of Canada to take this concern of international students and request landlords to contextualize the the tenant obligations to the current crisis.

Considering the fact that most of these international students are away from their home, some do not have full time jobs or a steady source of income and mostly depend on gift money, most of them are going through hardship to complete the cession online (doing final exams), these international students are already having enough stress and worry about what may happen to them the next day.

It's true everyone is going through hard times, but adding pressure to vacate the appartement with strict deadlines and financial penalties is not the fair way to go during this crisis period when even connection with home countries by international flights is practically impossible and everyone has to reduce exposure to avoid contamination.

We humbly call upon the Government of Canada to stand and also take the international students concerns into consideration so that they can be handled fairly during this crisis we are going through.
