David Lametti

David Lametti is a prominent Canadian politician and professor who has notably served as the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada since 2019. Prior to this role in the cabinet, he was the parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development. Lametti represents the LaSalle—Émard—Verdun riding as a member of the Liberal Party. He has a distinct academic background, holding a B.A. from the University of Toronto, an M.A. from Oxford University, and a Ph.D. from Yale University, specializing in philosophy and law. Before venturing into politics, Lametti had a successful career in academia, teaching at McGill University's Faculty of Law.
