Justice for Yarely Hermosillo: Hold Her Killer Fully Accountable

Justice for Yarely Hermosillo: Hold Her Killer Fully Accountable
The Issue
On August 15, 2025, 27-year-old Yarely Ashley Hermosillo was killed by a stray bullet while sitting in a car with her mother, her 4-year-old son, and her boyfriend. She wasn’t arguing. She wasn’t provoking anyone. She was just trying to get home safely—until a stranger’s gunfire during a road rage incident tore through her life and shattered her family’s world.
Now we are calling on the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office to do everything in its power to ensure full justice is served in Yarely’s case.
The man accused of firing the gun—33-year-old Jesus Preciado Dousten—allegedly got into an argument with another driver at a stoplight and decided to open fire. One of those bullets entered Yarely’s car. She died in front of her child. It was senseless. It was preventable. And it can’t be swept under the rug.
We’ve seen too many of these tragedies disappear from headlines before justice is ever delivered. We cannot let that happen this time. Yarely was a mother, a daughter, a partner, and a beloved presence in her community and online. Her life mattered. Her son’s trauma matters. Her family deserves accountability—not delay, not excuses.
We urge County Attorney Rachel Mitchell to:
- Pursue the strongest possible charges with no plea deals that diminish the seriousness of this act.
- Keep the public informed at every stage of the prosecution.
- Recognize this case for what it is: a reckless and fatal abuse of gun ownership that stole a woman’s life and traumatized a child forever.
This isn’t just about one trial. It’s about sending a clear message: firing a gun in anger on our streets will never be tolerated—especially when it takes the life of someone who had absolutely nothing to do with the dispute.
Please sign if you believe Yarely’s family deserves justice. Don’t let her story fade.
