No child should be harmed on their very first day of day care — but that’s exactly what allegedly happened at Little Blessings Child Care in Bainbridge, Georgia.

According to local police, a toddler was hospitalized after an incident on August 12, 2025.

A day care employee was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated battery and three counts of first-degree child abuse.

Surveillance video reportedly played a key role in the investigation.

This is heartbreaking — and deeply unacceptable.

As parents, guardians, and community members, we trust licensed child care facilities to protect and care for our children. When that trust is broken, especially with such serious charges, there must be full accountability.

The child’s family deserves answers. The public deserves transparency. And most importantly, the system must ensure that no other child suffers like this again.

We are calling on the Decatur County District Attorney’s Office to prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law.

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) to investigate Little Blessings Child Care and consider immediate license review or suspension.

The safety of children should never be optional. When one child is hurt, it’s not just a private tragedy — it’s a wake-up call.
