Introduction

Today, we stand at a historic crossroads. With Donald Trump elected and his many executive orders threatening the rights of citizens, stateless people, democracy, and the rule of law, we have a responsibility to act. We have a responsibility to show that a future is possible, and it starts with uniting around a leader who can deliver justice. That leader is Kamala Harris, a woman with a distinguished record of prosecution whose career embodies a commitment to the law and justice.

Why we want Kamala Harris to be our 2028 presidential candidate: 

Kamala Harris is a leader with the unique experience and qualities our country needs at this challenging time. Her career demonstrates a commitment to justice and the rule of law. Harris will not only restore democratic institutions, but also hold accountable those who undermine them. 

Her work as a prosecutor demonstrates her ability to fight crime, protect the rights of minorities, and implement reforms that make our justice system fairer. These are the qualities and experiences that are needed to restore America to its status as a bastion of democracy.

Call to Trump Supporters and All Who Support His Policies

We remind all supporters of Donald Trump, his administration, and those who promote policies that violate democratic norms and the U.S. Constitution: Trump's term in office is limited to four years. After that, anyone who promoted illegal actions or violations of the Constitution may be held accountable. 

History teaches us that following criminal orders or promoting illegal policies does not excuse one from liability. The precedent of the Nuremberg trials in 1945 established that participation in criminal acts, even when following "laws" or "orders," entails legal consequences. We believe that the same logic will apply to anyone who chooses to ignore the rule of law today.

Kamala Harris’ Professional Experience: 

San Francisco District Attorney (2004–2011): 

Harris led the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office for seven years, where she pioneered programs to reduce crime and rehabilitate offenders. 

California Attorney General (2011–2017): 

Harris ran the state’s largest justice department, where she focused on protecting human rights, criminal justice reform, and combating organized crime. 

Notable Accomplishments: 

Prosecuting members of major organized crime groups. 

Creating programs to rehabilitate offenders and reduce recidivism. 

Protecting minority rights, women’s rights, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Contradictions in Donald Trump's Executive Orders: 

Among the many executive orders signed by Donald Trump are some that directly violate the Constitution and federal laws, including: 

Banning transgender people from serving in the military: This order violates the principles of equality and non-discrimination guaranteed by the Constitution. 

Renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America": The attempt to change a historically and geographically recognized name has sparked international protests and undermines relations with neighboring countries. 

Renaming Mount Denali back to "McKinley": This decision ignores the views of indigenous people and Alaskans, demonstrating disrespect for their culture and history. 

Mass pardons for Capitol attackers: This undermines the rule of law by encouraging impunity for violence against democratic institutions.

Call to Action:

 We call on the Democratic Party to nominate Kamala Harris for President in 2028. Her experience as a prosecutor and her leadership qualities make her the ideal candidate to restore democracy, the rule of law, and justice.
