Joe Biden, Please Withdraw Your Bid to the 2020 Presidential Campaign

The Issue

We the people respectfully implore former Vice President Joseph "Joe" Biden (Biden)to withdraw his bid in the 2020 Democratic primaries. We understand that Biden himself has concerns that he will not be able to complete his Presidential duties, per his own conversation with former President Barack Obama.

"The most important thing — and I've actually talked to Barack about this — the most important thing is that there has to be someone who, the day after they're picked, is prepared to be president of the United States of America if something happened," Biden said. (Newsweek, March 22, 2020)

Furthermore, there have been concerns throughout the country that Biden displays signs of cognitive decline, which would impair his ability to carry out Presidential duties. The following behaviors, which are recognized by the medical community (resource: Mayo Clinic) have been observed:

  • He has had memory loss, forgetting important events, dates, names.
  • He is losing his train of thought and the thread of conversations
  • Having trouble finding his way around familiar environments, has appeared confused and disoriented.
  • He has become more impulsive and has shown increasingly poor judgment.
  • He has displayed irritability and aggression.
  • He has had difficulty communicating or finding words
  • He has displayed inappropriate behavior, such as sniffing hair and caressing women and children.

Knowingly and purposefully continuing his bid under these conditions is not in the best interest of the American people. Should he win the election and immediately step down, his Vice President selection would become the President without the conscience vote of the American people. This should not be allowed to continue when there is a viable contender who has been vetted by the American people.

Former Vice President Biden, please do what is right for America during these troubling times.
