Commuters use the Highland Ave. train station on a daily basis for commuting to Hoboken and NY Penn Station, among other destinations. Other commuters come to Highland Ave. to patronize local businesses and organizations or to come to work in this section of Orange. 

NJ Transit should open the station during commuter hours, at least from 6:00AM - 9:00AM to make waiting for trains in harsher weather easier. The ridership at this station is increasing as the surrounding neighborhoods grow, and riders would like to see the same treatment that numerous other stations on the Morris and Essex lines receive. With just small improvements, ridership will increase even more.
