The Protection of Children's Rights in Yemen - Project A.R.T.S.

The Issue

At Project A.R.T.S, we value the lives of all children as we work to establish more opportunities for them. We are a student and artist led initiative committed to redefining the idea that encapsulates children's rights.

At the moment, Yemen is experiencing the most critical humanitarian crisis in global history. Casualties of the on-going war include schools, hospitals, and markets. The destruction of these essential industries causes a Yemeni's access to medical supplies and food to cease. The consequences of exterminating fundamental resources is mass starvation. While over 100,000 people are affected, the majority of those are children/infants.

According to the "Yemen Data Project", a child in Yemen lives through an average of about fourteen air raids per day illustrating another example of how the exposure to extreme brutality increases the risk of phycological damage of said child. "...there are 1.8 million children currently facing malnutrition, including 400,000 who are severely malnourished and at risk of death if not urgently treated. More than 8 million children are cut off from regular access to basic water, sanitation, and hygiene services." (UNCEF)

Please take the time to sign our petition and recognize the dire circumstances that the people of Yemen are undergoing. Your signatures and donations will help save the lives of countless Yemeni children and provide them with opportunities to a better future. Especially during these unprecedented times, the existence of COVID 19 is affecting thousands of families which only adds to the urgent need for your signature.
