Petition updateLast Chance: Save This Critical Sonoran Desert Wildlife RegionTomorrow's Vote, September 4, and What's Next

The Town of Marana has chosen not to allow discussion of the Lazy K-Bar development, and placed approval of Pulte's preliminary plat on the Consent Agenda for the September 4 Marana Council meeting at 7pm.

Anyone wishing to speak in support of another outcome for Lazy K-Bar would have three minutes to do so in the Call to the Public preceding council's actions. If you are attending, arrive early to fill out and deliver a speaker card.

It is pretty clear that most of Marana's town government support the project. "Done deal" is what we've been hearing for years, with several prior developers. But an "adjustment" in the buffer around the development has enabled removal of the 75% voting majority needed for contested proposals this time.

With nearly 2,500 signers to our petition, we're wondering how many of you live in or have ties to the area. If you'd like to add your name to a letter to the town and the developer, please email me with your name and comments to b.rose@beantreefarm.com. Thanks!

We continue to advocate for a better future for Lazy K-Bar and the regional wildlife linkage, and to connect with key green investors and philanthropists to save this place, so keep sharing this petition as widely as you can.

There is simply too much at stake to turn away.

In gratitude, Barbara
