A final vote on Lazy K-Bar is coming up the evening of September 4th at Marana's Town Council Meeting, 6PM, 11555 W Civic Center Dr, Marana, AZ 85653.

If approved, bulldozers will start rumbling by the New Year. Scenic Drive will be opened, heavy equipment will tyrannize wildlife, and hurried interstate access traffic will soon follow.

With all that is happening in the world- massive floods, fires, droughts, famines and worse, our effort seems small. But this Sonoran Desert corner reflects a subtler, slower form of casualty that devitalizes critical natural and cultural places, and leads to more serious social and ecological problems.

We have yet to convene a team with the resources and influence needed to secure Lazy K-Bar, to give the north Safford Peak watershed and Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan's critical regional wildlife linkage a better chance.

Over 2,000 MUCH APPRECIATED SUPPORTERS have signed this petition! We're still hopeful- there is such vibrant potential to create a model of another way. Thanks for your signatures and support, and for everything else I'm sure you do.
