Jefferson Parish Schools- In Denial?

This past Wednesday, it was reported that there were 147 positive cases of Coronavirus in Jefferson Parish Schools- a 56% increase over numbers reported on November 18th. Despite this, we have system leaders saying, "Steps like temperature checks, hand washing and mask wearing are working." 

Education workers, school level administrators and the students themselves are doing everything possible to stay safe. However when district leaders make statements like this, and when school board members continue to NOT wear masks for the majority of school board meetings, many of us question their authority, decency and common sense. 

Continue to speak up. Continue to speak out.
