Not penalize NH co-parenting. Make child support fair Pass NH HB 362 bit.ly/nhhb362

The Issue

Pass NH HB 362. Making Child Support Fair based on parenting time. Encourage parents to work together to create a single stable financial situation for their familes.

Currently, a single household pays 100% of child support regardless of parenting time. I am a father of 3 who gave up a house and stable financial situation to be a dad. I personally struggle to make ends meet so I can be a father 50+% of the time and ironically, might have to move and lose the ability to

Right now it can be an economic burden for a divorced father to parent his children, this is insane. A parent should not be penalized for wanting to have partial custody of their children.

Our current laws give all support to one parent, regardless of time and money spent parenting. I pay the same amount of support as though I never have my children, even though I have them over 50% of the time. For me personally, this is worth the cost, as being a father is my identity. But in general, these outdated laws encourage fathers to not participate in their childrens lives, as its a financial burden.

This isn't a partisan or controversial issue, this shouldn't even be questioned. There are no foreseeable negative consquences of this bill and in fact is likely to allow more parents the opportunity to affort partial custody. The goal of child support should be to create a balanced financial lifestyle for the children so they can live their best life possible with both parents involved in their lives. Anything less is an injustice to the children.

Please, if you are a father, or someone who loves children, or believes in equality. Sign this petition, and encourage NH representatives to promote fairness in our child support laws. Encourage men to be participating fathers, and not punish them financially for trying to be involved in their childrens lives.
