House Oversight Committee, Investigate Donald Trump Immediately.

House Oversight Committee, Investigate Donald Trump Immediately.
The Issue
Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Representatives Jason Chaffetz and Elijah Cummings: Perform your sworn duties as Congressman by immediately initiating an investigation into the conflicts of interest of President-elect Donald Trump.
End (or suspend) any other committee activity or investigation which may interfere.
The Oversight Committee is faced with the most urgent possible call on its authority: In two months Donald Trump, who has refused to reveal information on the avalanche of ethically questionable transactions which have and will occur under his leadership, will take charge of America's executive branch. He has more potential conflicts of interest than any President-elect in history.
These are only a few of Donald Trump's confirmed conflicts of interest:
- A federal agency's (GSA) lease of the Old Post Office to Trump’s hotel company, when Trump will have the authority to hire and fire the head of the GSA.
- The National Labor Relations Board, composed entirely of presidential appointees, which has authority over workers in Trump Hotels who want to unionize.
- Trump’s active investments in the Dakota Access Pipeline that he may ultimately have to rule on.
- Trade issues that will affect massive Bank of China loans to several Trump organizations.
- Management of his business organizations by his three children rather than by a blind trust.
- The giving of security clearances to Trump’s business associates—his children, who will be running his businesses—and their presence in meetings with foreign dignitaries.
As leaders of Congress’ chief investigative and oversight committee, you are the members of the legislative branch with the clearest authority to investigate those who hold executive offices.
Representatives Chaffetz and Cummings, your duty to America’s safety, integrity and financial well-being requires that you initiate and pursue an investigation into Donald Trump’s conflicts of interest NOW.
