Today Vanessa Taylor was sentenced for life without parole for a murder she did not commit. Vanessa Taylor had no idea that a crime was going to be committed when she gave someone a ride to a local store, the person she gave a ride to ended up murdering someone and weeks later killing himself. The El Paso County Courts charged/jury convicted/judge sentenced her with murder for driving him. The jury were given the instruction that if they believe she “should have known what was going to happen” then they are to hold her just as responsible as the person that pulled the trigger. Vanessa Taylor is a wife/mother/daughter/friend and a productive member of society. It is tragic that someone lost their life at the hand of another, but finding Vanessa Taylor responsible and sentencing her to life without parole is not justice. Please help me get enough attention so that Governor of Colorado can see this and hopefully help Vanessa Taylor and her family, that desperately need her at home.
