To Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, John Morton;
Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano; and
Deportation Officer Hunter
We, the undersigned, ask for the Deportation of
Paula DeLima-Villafan (A#: 205.391.335) be stopped immediately.
We urge ICE to drop her case.
Paula was stopped on April 9th, 2012 by Gwinnet county police for a minor traffic
violation. Paula was arrested for driving without a license and was taken to Gwinnett County Detention Center. She was later transferred to North Georgia Detention Center where she was released on April 13th, 2012. With her case still open she had to report with her Deportation Officer and on June 5th, Officer Hunter gave her 60 days to leave the country.
Paula was brought to the United States when she was six years old. Now, 18 years old, she has grown up in Georgia and is a hard-working and contributing member of her community. She graduated from Duluth High School this past May and was to attend Gwinnett Technical College. Paula is DREAM Act-eligible and, according to the memo issued by John Morton, is not a priority for deportation and should be given favorable use of prosecutorial discretion.
We, the undersigned, ask for the deportation of
Paula DeLima-Villafan (A#: 205.391.335) be stopped immediately. We urge ICE to drop her case.
