100,024 signatures. One message. Remove the Stand Rule.

Like so many AFL supporters, I've reached the point where I think enough is enough.

The Stand Rule was brought in with good intentions. To speed up the game and encourage attacking football. But after several seasons, I believe it's doing more harm than good.

Instead of making the game better, the rule has become increasingly confusing for players, umpires and supporters alike. Even now, by Round 18, the interpretation still seems to change from week to week, leaving everyone wondering exactly what is and isn't allowed. A rule that creates this much uncertainty simply isn't working.

This isn't about blaming umpires. They're simply enforcing the rules they're given.

This is about asking the AFL to listen to the people who love the game.

Supporters from every club may disagree on almost everything else, but one thing I keep hearing, at the footy, on social media, on radio, and in conversations with mates, is that the Stand Rule has become one of the most frustrating rules in our game.

So instead of another comment on Facebook or another call to talkback radio, let's come together and send one clear message.

Let's fill the MCG on paper.
Our goal is 100,024 signatures—the capacity of the MCG.

If you believe the Stand Rule has run its course and it's time to return the game to a simpler, fairer interpretation of the mark, please add your name.

We're simply asking the AFL Commission to review this rule and remove it, returning the game to the way it was played before the Stand Rule was introduced.
