Build an iconic Women's Building on the former Holloway Prison site

"After spending 3 years in Prison, I was left homeless with no help available to me. I was a Domestic Violence victim and received support whilst in Prison, but this stopped automatically when I was released. A Women's Building with all these services under one roof could really help tackle all these obstacles." ~ The last woman to be released from HMP Holloway
"HMP Holloway closed in 2016. It was bought by Peabody to be turned into social housing with the promise of a women’s building, to honour the site’s history. Yet, in the latest plans revealed by Islington Council and Peabody, the women’s building is a tiny portion of what we were promised and what is needed."
"Women who once lived in Holloway, as well as the community around the prison have not been adequately consulted. There is no evidence that Islington Council have listened to the women they have spoken to about the site."
"We must not waste this historic opportunity by allowing the Women’s Building to be minimised and reduced to a tokenistic, 'Women's Floor' on this 10-acre site of approx. 1000 new homes. Of the 1489sqm offered in the developer’s current designs, only approx. 500sqm have been dedicated to women’s services. Our research has found that this will not provide adequate provision and a substantially larger space is required. The prison afforded women approx. 4600sqm of space dedicated to their wellbeing."
