Stop objectifying female students bodies

The Issue

There’s many stories going around about teachers telling students that the leggings they were are ‘disgusting’ ‘inappropriate’ and ‘reveal everything’. This is so inappropriate as this is grown adults commenting on young women’s bodies and objectifying based on what they wear. If a teacher feels the need to comment on their bodies and clothing, they shouldn’t be working in that kind of environment and instead of making young students uncomfortable in their school because of their bodies, teachers should be taught how to respect our bodies and not comment on them.

Not all students can afford the tracksuit bottoms for the school and their only resort is to wear leggings but they can’t without feeling like their being judged and objectified by grown adults who are meant to be educating them and helping them survive in the real world past school and by doing this all they are teaching us is how to dress and that our bodies can’t be respected if wearing ‘distracting’ clothing. It’s mostly male teachers that I have heard commenting on our bodies and it needs to change!
