Charlie Kirk’s tragic assassination shook the nation—but how the FBI responded under Director Kash Patel has raised even more disturbing concerns. As the investigation unfolded, Patel made conflicting public statements, appeared more focused on social media than facts, and failed to show the professionalism the moment demanded.

Patel’s actions, including praising political allies during a murder investigation, are part of a broader pattern. Since taking office, he’s reshaped FBI leadership with loyalists, raised eyebrows with public appearances, and continued to politicize the bureau's role. The FBI should not be run like a partisan podcast.

We are calling on Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley and Attorney General Pam Bondi to launch a full independent investigation into Kash Patel’s leadership, including the recent firings, misuse of resources, and politicized conduct during the Kirk case.

Americans of all backgrounds deserve a justice system that’s fair and impartial, not one that punishes public servants for following the law. If the FBI is being weaponized to serve political goals, we must act now.
