Investigate grafton county state trooper protocols

Investigate grafton county state trooper protocols
The Issue
My dad's tragic passing could have been prevented. From approximately 6 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., he was inside his house, threatening to end his life. During this harrowing time, the Grafton County State Troopers used extreme force, establishing a perimeter around our home and brandishing rifles. Yet, despite their presence, my dad succeeded in taking his own life. Days before, he had been arrested and was released on house arrest. During this process, several critical protocols were overlooked by the New Hampshire State Police. Notably, they were supposed to confiscate his firearms, but they failed to do so. This oversight, among others, cost my dad his life.
This petition calls for a thorough investigation into the protocols of the Grafton County State Troopers, especially concerning mental health crises and firearm confiscation following arrests. Why were the guns not taken as per the due process? Why was there no intervention when it was clear that my father's life was in jeopardy? No one has yet been held accountable for these failures.
We seek transparency and accountability in our law enforcement agencies to ensure that such tragedies do not occur again. We need to understand if the protocols have changed, and if they haven't, why they were not adequately followed in my dad's case.
We urge the relevant authorities, including the New Hampshire Department of Safety and the Office of the Attorney General, to prioritize this investigation. It's vital to review and reform the procedures to prevent future incidents and ensure that those responsible for oversight and enforcement of these critical protocols are held accountable.
Join us in pushing for this essential investigation. Let's ensure our state trooper system is better equipped to handle sensitive situations and protect vulnerable individuals. Your support can make a difference.
Please sign this petition to demand accountability and change in the Grafton County State Trooper system.
