To: The Hon'ble Members of Parliament and the Government of India

We, the undersigned citizens of India, express our deep concern over the continuing incidents of rape and sexual violence across the country.

We respectfully urge Parliament to consider amending the relevant criminal laws to provide mandatory capital punishment, following conviction through due process of law, for every offence of rape.

We believe that stronger legal consequences may have a greater deterrent effect, reinforce public confidence in the criminal justice system, and reflect the seriousness of these offences.

We further request that the Government:

- Ensure prompt registration and investigation of all rape cases.

- Complete trials within fixed timelines through fast-track courts.

- Strengthen forensic infrastructure and victim support services.

- Ensure that all convictions are based on fair trials, reliable evidence, and the full appellate process provided by law.

We respectfully request Parliament to debate this proposal and, if it considers it appropriate, introduce legislation to amend the law accordingly.
