Inclusive Sports Uniforms For all Athletes

Inclusive Sports Uniforms For all Athletes
Now we’ve seen a tonne of problems when it comes to inclusivity in gender in sport. This is where my proposition of inclusive uniforms can get more women into sport. As discussed earlier, there continues to be a rapid decline in numbers when it comes to women in sport. Inclusive uniforms for all athletes promote comfort, unity and most importantly confidence. I’m sure there are a lot of questions about this proposition: How will it work? Where will it start? What’s safe? What’s appropriate?
My strategy is to implement these new comprehensive uniforms into the next Olympic games where we see all the athletes wearing any variation of these inclusive uniforms so that they are comfortable competing with the whole watching and for female athletes to most importantly not worry about if the string of their tampon is visible through their short bikini bottoms which their sports federation forces them to wear. When the Olympians wear these uniforms, it sets up the next generation to wear inclusive sport uniform options and gets rid of the burden of them having to wear athletic clothing in which they are uncomfortable in. Eventually, through implementing these uniforms, I expect to see your local soccer or netball club wearing these uniform alternatives on your Saturday morning.
With textile experts, we have come up with what’s safe and appropriate: no pockets in any of the athletic gear besides the track pants and the track jacket as pockets are a potential injury waiting to happen. The new guidelines will be the choice of bottoms can be any length the athlete chooses if it doesn’t restrict their body movement in any way.
For this proposition to work, we need as many of you on our side as possible showing as much support as you can. This is why I don’t want you all to just waste your time listening to me just to go away with nothing accomplished. So please, sign the petition to introduce the designs of inclusive athletic wear.
