Instagram’s AI system, which is flagging and suspending accounts inaccurately. This mistake did not only disturb my social connections but also carries serious consequences for business accounts. Numerous instances exist where Instagram has incorrectly and disruptively flagged and suspended accounts, resulting in irreversible damage including the permanent disablement of accounts. A 2019 study by the Data & Society Research Institute reveals that social media platforms' reliance on automated moderation could lead to false positives, unfairly impacting users. Instagram is not excluded from these potential pitfalls.

We demand Instagram to conduct an urgent and comprehensive review of its account suspension policies and mechanisms, placing a particular focus on its AI system. We insist that the system must ensure the rights of the account holders are not violated and protect them against catastrophic account losses.
