Petition for a Safer Crossing on Auburn Road.

Firstly, I acknowledge this has been the subject of previous community discussion and change.org petitions.  We do now have the support of our local member John Pesutto MP, who has has instigated a petition which he will use to urge the Minister for Roads and Safety to install a pedestrian crossing.  Local residents were advised via a letter drop on Monday the 15th of April 2024.  "There are too many crashes and near misses at this intersection (Urquhart St / Bowler St and Auburn Road)."

I am creating an electronic version of the petition to help scale the message.

Benefits of a crossing at this intersection will ensure:

- Children and families can cross the road safely;
- Residents of Hawthorn East can safely access the local businesses at this intersection;
- Residents on the western side of Auburn Road can safely access Fritsch Holzer Park and the Auburn Bowls Club; and 
- Slow down road-users to prevent high speed crashes.

I am not affiliated with the Liberal Party (nor any political party) but as a local resident impacted by a lack of safe pedestrian crossing opportunities on Auburn Road, I want to help gather enough signatures to create change.
