We wish to petition Melton Council for a crossing supervisor on Brooklyn Road, near the intersection of Coburns Road.

There are four schools within the adjacent community of this area, with a high density of students requiring to cross Brooklyn Road unsupervised and while Coburns Road benefits from having a crossing supervisor, Brooklyn Road remains unguarded, putting our children at unnecessary risk.

Statistics reinforce our concerns. It is well-documented in urban development studies that supervised school crossings significantly decrease the likelihood of traffic accidents involving children. With so many families using this route, it is pivotal to ensure the safety of the children crossing this busy intersection.
