I am a resident of BedStuy and the owner of an amazing doggy companion named Hercules, whose life has been hugely shaped by Fulton Park. Five years ago, I started bringing Hercules as a puppy to the off-leash hours at the park. He has since grown up here, making countless friends among park-goers and staff alike. This place is his world.

Fulton Park is more than just a recreation space for dogs and their owners. It is a nexus for local community interaction, and we believe this should continue to be respected. However, it is essential that the needs and want of both dog and non-dog owners are met cohesively, hence this petition.

We call for each party's rights to be honored and satisfied by reinstating Off-Leash hours (before 9am and after 9pm) and designating specific Dog-Friendly zones, we can create an equitable environment that caters to everyone. Not only for dog owners, Hercules, and his friends but also for the entire community that calls Fulton Park home. Let's make the park conducive for all - two-legged or four-legged ones.
