As a deeply concerned and politically active Californian, President Trump’s policies and political direction have begun to impinge on the values and beliefs I cherish. As such, I believe that it is essential for California, a state that is innovative, progressive, and stands as the 5th largest economy in the world, to secede from the United States. We seek to protect our unique cultural diversity, our outstanding commitment to environmental conservation, and our global leadership in technology and entertainment industries. We intend to preserve our state's ability to chart its own course in the face of a Federal Government that is moving in an increasingly undemocratic direction.
