Mike McGuire is an American politician currently serving as the 52nd President pro tempore of the California State Senate. As a member of the Democratic Party, he represents the 2nd Senate district, which covers the North Coast region from Marin County to Del Norte County. McGuire has been a member of the California State Senate since 2014. Prior to his state-level service, he served as the Mayor of Healdsburg, California, from 2006 to 2010, and was a member of the Healdsburg City Council. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Sonoma State University. Before his political career, McGuire worked for General Dynamics. His tenure in public service reflects a strong commitment to his constituents and the Democratic Party's values.
