Incarcerate Sexual Predators Remove the Public Sex Offender Registries

If a person goes out and rapes a child or adult, incarcerate that person. Prior to sentencing ensure each individual is evaluated by professionals to determine just what type of threat to society the person poses. Sentence them accordingly.

While they are incarcerated, force them to be evaluated by psychiatrists and psychologists. If they refuse to cooperate with the psychiatrists or psychologists, mark them as incorrigible and keep them in prison. If they show to be amenable to treatment, and do in fact go through treatment, upon their release, have them be under strict PROBATION AND PAROLE.

If they have been sentenced properly, their would be no need for a Public Sex Offender Registry because the courts and professionals have done their job.

Remove the public shaming of United States Citizens from being on any type of Public Sex Offender Registry.

A proven fact that as many as 97 percent of the 700,000 plus united states citizens on the sex offender registries are no threat to society. If law lawmakers, politicians and law enforcement people were doing their jobs, they would not be out trying to monitor the  679,000 people who are on the registry, instead, the 3% of truly dangerous sexual predators would either be in prison, or closely watched by probation and parole.

The tax payers would much rather pay for 3% of 700,000 people to be monitored, than the full Seven-Hundred Thousand.

Stop shaming men, women and children into homelessness and do your job Lawmakers and Judges!

Evaluate each individual who commits a sex crime, and lock up the dangerous ones and their will be no need for Public Shaming of United States Citizens.

Letter to

President of the United States
Studies have shown the public shaming of those who have committed a crime by use of the Public Sex Offender Registry has not elevated the safety of the citizens.
All studies have shown that approximately 97 percent of all sex crimes are committed by those who are NOT on any type of sex offender registry.
Most sex crimes are committed by persons known to the victim. Parents, Relatives, Neighbors or Trusted Associates. Not by some evil person who jumps out from bushes and grabs a child or person and rapes them.

Public sex offender registries banish the person who is on the registry from work, a place to live, friends and any hope for the future. Congressman Bobby Scott said, VIDEO HERE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtxT6R2sOZc, Once you are on this publicly accessible registry, basically your life is over.

Courts need to investigate each individual case of sexual abuse and prior to sentencing determine if the offender is amenable to treatment or not. If not, do not release that person to society again. If yes, then while the person is in prison, ensure the offender receives treatment and counseling. Once that person is released, let Probation and Parole monitor them.

The public shaming of United States Citizens is totally counterproductive to the goals of not only government, but also humanity.
