As a concerned parent, I am deeply worried about the safety of our children during drop off and pick up times at Our Lady of the Nativity Primary School located at 29 Fawkner Street Aberfeldie, Victoria. The current conditions pose significant risks to our children's safety due to insufficient traffic management and lack of parents obeying the small traffic signs.

According to Kidsafe, more than 150 children are killed and over 68,000 hospitalised as a result of unintentional injuries. These statistics include school zone accidents each year which is alarming and highlights the urgent need for improved safety measures in school zones. 

We urge Moonee Valley City Council to address these major safety concerns promptly by implementing effective traffic calming measures such as properly constructed drop off zones, improving signage for drivers, and establishing safe pedestrian crossings. We also request increased supervision during peak hours to ensure that all rules are adhered to.

Furthermore, the traffic conditions around close proximity to the address in subject are horrendous. Roach Street is a nightmare as it is a very narrow street which is almost impossible for dual way traffic at school drop off and pick up times, as is Ramsay Street. So many illegally parked cars. Totally unsafe causing major traffic congestion mainly due to the dangerous state of the drop off area.

Our children's lives should never be put at risk when they are simply going about their daily routine of attending school. Let us come together as a community in Aberfeldie VIC, Australia and demand safer conditions for our kids.
