Commuters make up a large percentage of the student body, many of whom are on bus routes controlled by private bus companies. These companies are of course businesses trying to make a profit, but they are trying to get every cent from students that cannot afford sudden price increases, especially without notification. On top of this, some routes do not provide coverage for all lecture times for students.

This petition's aim is to be the first step to improve the situation for commuters on these routes. This petition aims to gain the following policy changes within the private bus companies:

• Immediately revert price increases and bus time changes until the end of the university year.
• Require any change must have at least four weeks' notice and be updated accordingly on social media and websites.
• Any future changes in price or bus times that will affect commuting to the earliest lectures in the mornings or from the latest lectures in the evenings must occur during the summer break (Coverage at minimum 08:45 arrive and 18:05 depart Mon-Thurs, 08:45 arrive and 17:15 depart Friday).

If these changes are not implemented, the bus companies will continue to affect if you or your fellow students can get to lectures and afford commuting one day, and cannot quite literally the next day. These companies will continue to do whatever provides them the most profit, and that means increasing prices and no longer servicing all lectures. Even if you can afford the price changes or all your lectures are still covered now, you might not be able to get to lectures next year as timetables change and prices increase. Someone you know might already be suffering due to the changes these companies have already implemented, so sign in support of them if not for yourself!
