Improve Mental Health Support at The Gables in Braintree

The Issue

As a resident deeply concerned about mental health service provision in our area, I have personally witnessed at least ten of my fellow Braintree residents suffering due to inadequate mental health support at The Gables. These individuals, have complex mental health needs, are not coping and not gaining support, feeling ignored and unheard. A crisis feels all the more devastating when the very place that should offer solace—The Gables—seemingly does not step up to provide the urgent support needed.

In England, one in six people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week, with over two-thirds not receiving the mental health care they need (Source: NHS).  With such statistics, it is heart-wrenching to see the critical role places like the Gables have to play, yet they do not appear to be filling these shoes adequately.
Which is evident from the Google reviews of gables. Where patients have felt unheard and dismissed and still suffering with no support.
From the eyes of our community, an immediate overhaul to improve mental health support mechanisms at The Gables is not just necessary but is a matter of urgency. We, the citizens of Braintree and those personally affected by this, we implore the administration of The Gables to introspectively review the level and quality of mental health support they currently provide, and earnestly consider upgrades in their system with haste and sincerity. To prevent further detrimental effects to the patients wellbeing and life.
