The Knocksedan Estate is a beautiful community that has unfortunately been overlooked when it comes to essential infrastructure. Despite several attempts to address this issue through official channels, the lack of proper connectivity to surrounding areas remains a pressing concern that jeopardizes the safety and well-being of our families and community members.

The absence of an essential footpath linking Knocksedan Estate with Swords Manor and amenities is not just an inconvenience but a safety hazard. Residents, including school children, the elderly, and people with mobility challenges, face daily obstacles in accessing schools, shops, healthcare facilities, and other basic services. This lack of infrastructure forces pedestrians to walk along potentially dangerous roadways or through the local valley where there is inadequate lighting, compounding the risk of accidents. The alternative is for residents to drive , leading to more unnecessary car journeys and gridlock of other estates 

 
We urge the Petitions Committee of the Oireachtas to address this unacceptable situation by prioritizing the construction of a well-lit, functional footpath that is accessible 24/7. With simple measures, our community can gain safe and secure connectivity that enhances the quality of life for everyone.
