Improve Accessibility of Mental Health Services in Naperville Schools

The Issue

I believe that mental health services in our schools need to be more accessible to students. This is not just an issue for students, but for the entire world. By starting off in smaller communities like high schools and continuing the discussion into adulthood, we can begin to improve mental health services and make the world less scary for ourselves and future generations.

Mental health issues among teenagers are on the rise. According to a report by the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly one in five U.S. teens have been diagnosed with a mental disorder (source: NIMH); yet many schools lack adequate resources or programs to address these issues effectively.

In particular, our current system often fails those students who deal with their circumstances differently than others. We need a more inclusive approach that recognizes diverse needs and provides appropriate support accordingly.

We call on school authorities to take immediate action towards improving accessibility of mental health services within our educational institutions. This includes providing additional funding for these programs, training staff members about different types of mental disorders and how they can affect learning processes differently, as well as implementing policies that ensure every student has access to necessary help when needed.

Let's work together towards creating an environment where all students feel understood and supported in their struggles with mental health issues. Please sign this petition if you believe in making this change happen.
