Improve Access to Affordable Housing

Improve Access to Affordable Housing

The Issue

The struggle to find affordable housing is a pressing issue that affects millions of people, not just in our community, but worldwide. The economic divide is continuously growing, and an increasing number of households are unable to secure adequate housing. According to the National Low Income Housing Coalition, in the U.S. alone, there is a shortage of 7 million affordable and available rental homes for low-income renters. This vast deficit in affordable housing is exacerbating the homelessness crisis, thrusting many into poverty and preventing the upward mobility of others. Therefore, we call upon local and national authorities to push for initiatives, policies, and regulations that will increase the availability of affordable housing. This could include opting for mixed-income housing policies, investing in affordable housing projects, or providing subsidies to low-income renters. Housing is a basic human right, and everyone should have access to secure, safe, and affordable housing. By signing this petition, you are pledging your support to demand action from our leaders to make affordable housing accessible for all.
