The Cosgrove community has seen an alarming rise in criminal activity recently, including break-ins and car theft. As residents, we are concerned for our safety and want concrete action in response to this issue. Installing gates at the entrance and exit points of our community can act as a formidable deterrent and can drastically bring down such incidents. This method has been proven effective in many other communities, reducing property crime rates by significant margins. For instance, part of Caloundra reported a decrease in criminal activity by more than 30% after installing barriers and gates in certain neighborhoods (according to Sunshine Coast, Neighborhood Crime Statistics). By transforming our community into a gated one, we not only fortify our homes but also exemplify how communities can take proactive measures against ever-increasing crime rates. Securing the safety and peace of our community is a fundamental right, and by adding this protective measure, we are taking a significant step towards that goal.
